How to Install 800 GPH Automatic Boat Bilge Pump #BT6188

How to Hardwire a Bilge Pump to a Battery (Quick Guide)
- Tools Needed:
- Drill
- Phillips Head Bit
- Silicone Glue
- Wire Crimpers
- Wire Connectors
- Wire Terminals
- Red Wire 14 Gauge
- Black Wire 14 Gauge
- Heat Gun
- Steps to Install (reference video link):
- If hull is not 1/2 inch thick, install 1/2 inch marine plywood block
- Glue block to lowest point in the boat with silicone
- Mark screw locations and drill pilot holes on the block
- Screw Baseplate to the block with provided screws
- Insert Bilge pump into the pump mounting base until it *clicks*
- Wiring the Bilge Pump (reference video link):
- Disconnect battery terminals
- Strip negative/positive wires to prep for splicing
- Place both positive wire (brown) and auto-positive wire (brown/white) inside connector
- Crimp wires to connector
- Add positive wire from battery to other side of the connector
- Crimp wire to connector
- Heat shrink connector with heat gun for waterproof connection
- Place positive wire inside terminal
- Crimp positive wire to terminal, and heat shrink
- Add negative wire to connector
- Crimp negative wire to terminal
- Add negative wire from battery to other side of the connector
- Crimp negative wire to terminal
- Heat shrink connector with heat gun for waterproof connection
- Place negative wire inside terminal
- Crimp positive wire to terminal, and heat shrink
- Add positive and negative wire terminals to battery and tighten
- Test the Pump (reference video link):
- Twist the "Test Knob" clockwise until it *clicks* and the pump engages
